(the blend is mostly from Damaudes with a small proportion of Hautes Maizières)
rather jewelly nose – the Pinot most like a typical Central Otago Pinot so far to me (though this is probably not the intention at Felton Road)
this is best enjoyed soon
red currants and blackberries complementing the fragrant core of cassis
this is satisfying and delicious plus it could easily be enjoyed young
Masi, Mazzano Amarone Valpolicella Classico Vintage:1999 (the blend is mostly fromComplex nose, with soft raisins, earth, dried herbs, Indian spices and chocolate. Full bodied, with loads of spicy fruit coating the tannins and a very long, distinctive mineral finish. Powerful, but remains fresh. This is what Amarone is all about. Irresistible now, but will age very well. Fantastic. Best ever from Masi. Drink now. 1,150 cases made. JS
