Despite its natural range along the Southeastern US coastal plain, it's suffered in taxonomic purgatory for decades, being incorrectly assigned to both Andropogon virginicus and Andropogon glomeratus. Naturally growing in average to moist soils, it forms chalky blue clumps to 2' tall x 3' wide. In late
