There will be no 2017 because it was lost to frost
Full-bodied and densely packed
with Claude Pouizin running the estate through 1996
2012 is not an opulent vintage for this wine
This could very well be the highlight of the 2022 vintage
Weinbach, Pinot Gris Altenbourg SGN other_regions_australia There will be no 2017(for 375 ml.; 9. 9% alcohol, 161 g l r. s. and 10 grams of acidity) Deep yellow gold. Carnal, exotic aromas of orange blossom, game, smoke and earth. Superripe, thick and powerful, but given great penetration by almost painful acidity. Wonderfully dense and concentrated wine with a tactile, salty finish that refuses to let up. Like the '07 Riesling SGN, this is just hinting at the complexity to come. Stephen Tanzer
